Andrew Ziehl is the only child of Lindsay Ziehl. M.B.E.

Andrew passed away suddenly in November 2020, in Brisbane, Queensland Australia.

Andrew was born in Melbourne, but relocated to South Africa in 1976 with his mother. He was educated in Durban, South Africa, after which he decided to return to Australia. He continued his education in Australia and earned a degree in electrical engineering with honours, all the time working to pay for his qualifications.

Andrew was a kind gentle soul who never forgot birthdays or special occasions. He made a point of making each person feel so special and remembered. He helped those less fortunate, visited those in hospital who had no one.

After his death, many people came forward to tell stories of his unending kindness and how grateful they where to him, what an impact he made on their lives. He never spoke about these kindnesses, he did it quietly and all the hundreds of stories came to light after his death.

Many of those close to Andrew described him as a quiet gentle soul, modest, a great friend with a huge heart and a man with a love of animals. He was close to both his step sister Janine, who lives in Port Elizabeth in South Africa, and his step brother Matthew, who lives in Brisbane.

Mother and son had a strong bond that grew more and more over the years. Lindsay says Andrew was the perfect son.

This beautiful young man's life will be remembered and his memory lives on in the The Andrew Ziehl Foundation.

It will carry his legacy. A legacy of kindness and caring.
